Guests at Jumeirah Vittaveli can now exchange or renew vows at the hotel’s overwater wedding chapel. Featuring a glass floor aisle, the chapel offers a romantic option for couples looking to tie the knot in the Maldives.
Couples can reserve the chapel in advance or upon arrival at Jumeirah Vittaveli. The venue offers 360-degree views of the Indian Ocean through panoramic glass doors. The resort can adjust the decorations upon request. Marriages here are ceremonial and not legally binding.
The new wedding chapel is located on the lagoon, within the resort’s overwater fine dining complex. Nearby food options include French restaurant Fenesse, the wine library Cuvée and the lounge Cyan.
Visiting couples can also stay at the resort’s Private Ocean Retreats. The freestanding lagoon villas are just a complimentary two-minute boat ride away from the main island. Amenities here include overwater hammocks, a private infinity pool and a full outdoor bed. Visitors may also choose romantic packages such as the Wedding Ceremony in Paradise or the Romance in Maldives offers.
According to Jumeirah Vittaveli’s general manager, Amit Majumder, this is just the latest in a line of romantic wedding venues the luxury hotel has provided. Other options range from a remote beach and a secluded sandbank to an underwater ceremony.
While at the resort, guests can visit its ice rink, PADI dive base, water sports center and six restaurants and bars. Jumeirah Vittaveli is a 20-minute boat trip from Malé International Airport.
