Sir Richard Branson’s Moroccan retreat Kasbah Tamadot has announced the addition of six brand-new two-bedroom Riads, which are now available to book for travel from September 2024. The hotel in the Atlas Mountains, which was the debut episode for the fifth series of BBC "Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond The Lobby," is part of the Virgin Limited Edition collection and will offer the six new Riads alongside its existing 29 rooms and suites, which include 11 luxury Berber Tents and the Master Suite—a miniature replica of the Kasbah itself.
Each of the new Riads will have two bedrooms, sleeping four people in a spacious Deluxe Pool Suite and a Deluxe Room connected by a separate living area. Patio doors in the living space will lead out to a private pool and a large terrace complete with sun loungers, as well as a typical Moroccan rooftop terrace with a covered lounge area and fireplace.
The interiors of the Riads will be individually decorated using traditional Moroccan furnishings, in keeping with the hotel’s existing décor and reflecting its authentic and peaceful surroundings, as well as antiques and items from the collection of Kasbah Tamadot’s former owner, antiques dealer and interior designer Luciano Tempo. Hand-woven soft furnishings, including bathmats and rugs, will be made by local artisans supported by the Eve Branson Foundation (EBF), the not-for-profit organization spearheaded by Sir Richard Branson’s late mother that works closely with Kasbah Tamadot to deliver artisanal training, protect the local environment and provide healthcare and education within the community. Guests to the hotel can also purchase similar handmade products at EBF’s local craft centers, with proceeds going directly back to the artisans.
Kasbah Tamadot also offers a host of activities during guests’ stays, from tennis to trekking or simply relaxing in the traditional Hamman. Guests are also invited to immerse themselves in the unique Berber culture with its 100 percent Moroccan team, which makes the hotel unique, and through experiences such as mule trekking, Berber cooking lessons, learning to bake Berber bread and taking tea at a house in the neighboring village.
