Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort, the brand’s first property in Hawaii opening summer 2023, is officially accepting bookings for stays beginning July 1, 2023. Located on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort will be sprawled across 81 acres.
From the design to the amenities, every element of the resort is being carefully curated to celebrate the quintessential elements of the original Kona Village, one of Hawaii’s most iconic retreats that has laid dormant since 2011. The property will draw inspiration from the history of the site, local culture and natural elements to offer guests an authentic Hawaiian experience.
The hotel will sport locally inspired design spearheaded by Greg Warner of Walker Warner Architects, and designed by San Francisco-based interior design firm, NICOLEHOLLIS.
There are 150 spacious guest hales—a traditional Hawaiian structure, much like a beach bungalow; five dining concepts, including the original resort’s Shipwreck Bar and Talk Story Bar and a full-service Asaya Spa, Rosewood’s integrative wellness concept, complete with a fitness center.
The resort will also offer a diverse outdoor recreational program with ocean sports and activities designed to inform, inspire and excite travelers of all ages; and an on-site cultural center providing both visitors and locals with perspective into the rich natural and cultural significance of the surroundings.
As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability, the resort will be powered 100 percent by solar energy.
