Planning some end-of-year celebrations in Lausanne? The historic Beau-Rivage Palace—nestled in 10 acres of gardens on the shores of Lake Geneva— is pulling out all the stops for the holiday season. The luxury hotel has teamed up with the prestigious (and oldest) champagne house, Ruinart, to open a Bubble Bar from November 15- February 24, 2019. Inside the transparent pop-up bar, decked with festive lights, guests can sip bubbly and snack on smoked salmon and caviar served with “pommes Charlotte,” blinis and sour cream, while taking in lakeside views of the Alps.
The Bubble Bar by Ruinart is part of the hotel’s annual “Art of Joy” celebration, which is designed to “put the magic back into our daily lives.” This yuletide program includes a number of holiday activities like Christmas cocktail classes, wine cellar tours (where you can gawk at the hotel’s 75,000 bottles), and the traditional carousel set up in the hotel’s garden for children. Younger guests will also be spoiled with roasted marshmallows and chestnuts on the terrace, and Santa will make an appearance on Christmas Day.
Recently renovated to the tune of $28 million, the Beau-Rivage Palace is home to a two-Michelin-starred restaurant by Anne-Sophie Pic, one of the top female chefs in the world (and the only one in France with a three-star restaurant). Other hotel facilities include two tennis courts, two bars, a children’s program, and a lavish Cinq Mondes Spa equipped with a fitness center, infinity pools and nine treatment rooms.
