Le Toiny, St Barths is set to reopen for its 2021-22 season on October 15. The boutique hotel, set across 17 acres of land, has 22 suites with ocean views, ranging from the two-bedroom La Villa Suite to the three-duplex Spirit Suites and Signature Suite, each of which has been updated by London-based designer Lady Bee Osborn. Each suite encompasses over 1,700 square feet of space and is equipped with a private terrace and large heated pool. Guests can also choose from eight connecting suites with two-bedroom options available upon request.
Upon its reopening, the hotel will unveil a brand-new accommodation, Villa Nureyev, the only villa constructed ocean-side of the wild coast and bounded entirely by the Caribbean Sea. Fun fact: It is the former vacation hideaway of legendary Russian ballet dancer, Rudolf Nureyev. Purchased and renovated by Nureyev in the 1980s, the villa’s original construction dates to the 1960s.
The villa offers more than 3,000 square feet of outdoor space and has four bedrooms, including two masters on the main floor, besides a private suite with its own terrace, kitchen area and guest cottage. The large living room with a piano, and separate lounge—complete with its own bar—on the lower level are ideal for gatherings, and other features include a heated outdoor pool on one deck and a Jacuzzi and steam bath on another. The villa also has a "‘floating" deck.
Launching on December 15, Villa Over the Ocean is a contemporary four-bedroom property just steps away from Le Toiny. The 7,000-square-foot space in Grand Fond has a private 900-square-foot heated pool, a tropical garden and an exterior deck. The deck will also be home to a bar, complete with a gazebo. Consisting of four self-contained units, Villa Over the Ocean will offer high-ceilings and spacious bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms and separate dressing areas. With a 24/7 concierge service, guests will also be granted exclusive access to the services at Le Toiny, including the Beach Club.
Le Toiny’s gastronomic experiences on property include Le Toiny Restaurant, which has special rotating menus and offers views of the ocean. The cuisine from Chef Brenton Styles includes such specialties as Mahi Mahi, Curried Cauliflower and Tuna Tartar. Le Toiny also offers exclusive service at The Beach Club, stretching over 40,000 square feet on Toiny Bay. Incorporating fresh local ingredients, The Beach Club is popular for its fresh grilled fish, lobster and salads complemented by refreshing cocktails. As guests enjoy these culinary treats, a soundtrack to their getaway is provided by a resident DJ.
The Serenity Cottage, the property’s wellness center, is accessible from The Beach Club and has a double treatment room. Each treatment is designed with the cosmetic line, Elemis, and uses dynamic ingredients, medical grade formulas and dedicated research, and is offered by the spa’s wellness experts.
This season, Le Toiny will unveil its Surf Shack located on the beach, where guests can rent equipment or book a private surfing lesson led by professional surfer and St. Barths native David Blanchard. The property also offers a range of activities such as hiking, diving, sea bobbing, luxury yacht charters and excursions to neighboring islands. The property also includes a fitness center and The Boutique, which offers a selection of ready-to-wear beach brands, including Devotion Twins, Peixoto and Villebrequin.
