The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) has introduced eight new member properties to its portfolio of luxury, independent hotels. Welcoming properties across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean, this season’s collection includes new openings from Japan to Morocco.
Europe
Princes’ Palace Resort: Reopened in 2024, this historical island estate on the shores of the Marmara Sea is just two hours south of Istanbul. It is situated on a nature conservancy on the island of Büyükada, Türkiye. Each of the 69 rooms in the property offers views of the ocean or gardens. The resort’s wellness center offers a range of tailor-made treatments.
Castello del Sole Beach Resort: A sister property to LHW’s Widder Hotel in Zurich, this wellness and wildlife resort is located in Ascona on the Swiss shores of Lake Maggiore. Set on a 140-hectare estate, this property is home to a private beach, a bird sanctuary, a botanical garden and an orchard. The resort has 41 suites and 38 rooms, indoor and outdoor heated pools, and tennis and golf facilities. The spa offers a diverse treatment menu including a grapeseed oil massage using ingredients from the resort’s own vineyard.
Althoff St. James’s Hotel & Club: Located down a quiet street near Mayfair, London, this property is known for its original art collection. Facilities include 60 guestrooms and suites, the Seven Park Place Bar & Lounge and Restaurant Francatelli. Nearby attractions include Buckingham Palace, Burlington Arcade and Bond Street, alongside theater, shopping and museums.
Asia
Espacio The Hakone Geihinkan Rin-Poh-Ki-Ryu: This new property is situated in a valley to the south of Tokyo amidst forests. It is accessible to guests via monorail and has nine private villas, each with a plunge pool. Guests can expect luxury amenities including in-room dining with Japanese and American menu options, and a long list of Japanese sake, whiskey and wines. They can also enjoy onsite hot springs, an indoor pool and more.
Sirru Fen Fushi Private Lagoon Resort: Located on Shaviyani Atoll, Maldives, this resort offers beachfront, safari-style and overwater villas. Its underwater art installation named “The Coralarium” was designed by British eco-artist Jason deCaires Taylor, underscoring the resort’s commitment to preserve the region’s marine ecosystem. Facilities include a 650-foot infinity pool, three restaurants and a spa.
Aleenta Phuket-Phang Nga Resort & Spa: Joining its sister LHW property, Aleenta Retreat Chaing Mai, and set on the island of Phuket, the resort is located in a secluded bay just a short distance from the Phang Nga Bay. This 67-suite resort has floor-to-ceiling windows, private pools and private terraces. Facilities include the Ayurah Spa and Wellness Center; Seasons restaurant which serves plant-based dishes; and the Edge restaurant with ocean views. Guests can also enjoy private dinner on the beach.
The Americas
Silversands Beach House: This new opening in Grenada is sister property to Silversands Grenada. It offers just 28 canopied rooms on Portici Beach with a choice of shore-side or cliff-side locations. Shaded canopies and spacious terraces invite indoor-outdoor living, and offer island views. Guests can enjoy Italian cuisine, a 42-foot infinity pool and more.
Africa
Royal Mansour Casablanca: This new opening in Morocco is sister property to Royal Mansour Marrakech and represents a complete renovation of a 1950s’ icon of the city. There are 149 rooms and suites, three dining options, and a 27,000-square-foot spa, which is spread across two levels. Facilities include a hammam, treatment rooms, a fitness studio, hair salon and an indoor pool.
