The Leading Hotels of the World has added seven hotels to its portfolio. This season’s collection includes four new hotel openings including a luxury mountain retreat in Italy, a flavor-forward hotspot in São Paulo and a contemporary gem in the upbeat Harwood District of Dallas, TX.
The newly opened Hotel Fasano São Paulo Itaim is the second project masterminded by Grupo Fasano in the city of São Paulo. The property has a mid-century-inspired library lounge overlooking the ground-floor gardens, a mix of residences, shops and bars, a rooftop infinity pool, and Gero, a fine-dining restaurant.
Located in the upbeat Harwood District of Dallas, Hôtel Swexan is a 134-key property slated to open this summer. The 22-story structure is the third building in the area by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. The interior details are inspired by a 19th-century Parisian residence-turned-hotel with handcarved stone and wooden fireplaces on every floor. The hotel offers a fitness and wellness center, a 20th-floor, 75-foot rooftop infinity-edge pool, meeting and banquet space, a private social club, two grand ballrooms and a signature steakhouse.
Botania Relais & Spa in Italy’s Forio d’Ischia is a third-generation, family-run island resort, conceived with environmental responsibility at its core. Ten scattered houses with a total of 48 rooms and suites are set within three hectares of parkland, planted with olive trees and citrus groves. Every experience at the hotel, from organic farming to sustainable materials, is designed to reflect the rhythms of nature. Programming includes weekly cooking courses and artisan ceramics classes. The resort also offers a spa and freshwater pools.
Falkensteiner Hotel Kronplatz in Riscone di Brunico, Italy, is Inspired by the South Tyrol mountains, the region’s sporting heritage and the creativity of designer Matteo Thun. The new property is a favorite with active guests and offers Alpine adventures. The family-friendly hotel has 97 rooms and suites, while the hotel’s restaurant, 7Summit, serves a slow food culinary concept using traditional, regional cuisine with specialties from countries with the highest peaks in the world. Other facilities include the 15,000-square-foot Acquapura Mountain Spa and a rooftop pool.
Located in the heart of London’s historic Holborn, L’oscar was built in 1903 as the headquarters of the Baptist church. The hotel’s Baroque design, complete with original stained-glass windows, ornately plastered ceilings and oak paneling, has been restored to its original glory. The hotel’s resurrection was a six-year task, led by French designer Jacques Garcia. In addition to the jewel-toned L’oscar restaurant, this summer will see a new dining experience introduced in the Chapel.
Situated on a three-and-a-half-hectare estate with gardens and riverfront views, Vinha Boutique Hotel is an urban retreat in a quiet part of Vila Nova da Gaia. Just minutes from Porto on the left bank of the Douro River, this 38-key hotel is a recently renovated 16th-century manor, and offers traditional Portuguese cuisine by two-Michelin star Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa. The Sisley Spa offers an array of wellness treatments. The hotel’s architecture and design combine historic and contemporary elements: Dark, glossy wood, monochrome prints, slick black glass and retro-style furniture are paired with antiques and collectibles from the owners’ travels. The main, historic manor house has been converted and attached to a new wing, featuring clean lines that echo the slopes of the Douro vineyards.
The Chedi El Gouna is an eco-friendly hotel overlooking the golden shoreline of El Gouna on Egypt’s ancient coast. The 82-key beachfront resort has a curated collection of gourmet eateries, spa facilities, tropical pools, fitness facilities, golf courses and water sports.
