Grand Isle Resort & Spa has picked Lester Scott to serve as its managing director. Announced late June, the appointment places Lester in charge of the hotel’s overall operations.
Scott joins Grand Isle Resort & Spa after a series of jobs at Five-Star and Four Diamond properties. Mentored by the former president and CEO of The Ritz Carlton Company, Horst Schulze, Scott will offer the property his 25 years of experience in the hospitality business. This background includes seven years working as an executive with Ritz Carlton and nine as a general manager and area general manager with Capella Hotel Group in China.
“I am excited to be leading Grand Isle in its continued status as a leader in world class hospitality,” said Scott. “My foremost priority is to go above and beyond our guests’ expectations; offering exceptional, personalized service and creating memorable experiences for all.”
Over the next couple months, Scott will help launch the new Exuma luxury beach club 23 North.
Grand Isle Resort & Spa rests on a mile of beach along Emerald Bay on the island of Great Exuma in the Bahamas. The casual, family-friendly resort offers sport fishing, fly fishing, diving and snorkeling by the beach, as well as dining and spa services in the resort.
