Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park has been in the midst of a large-scale renovation and we’ve been keeping one ear to the ground for details about the spa. With a prime location next to Hyde Park in Knightsbridge, the luxury hotel already has terrific destination dining (Bar Boulud and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal). Come May, the hotel will show off a striking new spa conceived by famous designer Adam D. Tihany. The look is fresh and contemporary, taking inspiration from traditional Chinese symbolism.
There will be 14 treatment rooms, including an Oriental Suite with two massage beds and a Rasul water temple (for a skin conditioning treatment involving mud, heat and steam). In addition, there will be a room for traditional ASANTE Chinese Medicine treatments, a Bastien Gonzalez Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio, and two other beauty rooms. The spa menu will showcase Mandarin Oriental’s signature oils alongside other cult brands like Aromatherapy Associates, Sodashi and Linda Meredith. Looking for the elixir of life? Extensive spa facilities will include the Amethyst Crystal Steam Room, Sanarium, Vitality Pool and the Zen Color Therapy Relaxation Area. The Fitness Center will be stocked with Technogym equipment, and the new PilatesPT studio will offer a variety of programs by award-winning trainer Hollie Grant, who will set up residence at the hotel.
In other news from Mandarin Oriental, the company announced plans in January to open a second complementary hotel in Hanover Square. The Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London is expected to open in 2021.
