Leading into its 10-year anniversary, The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills will debut an $11 million makeover in January, highlighted by a new London Bar, enhanced Boxwood restaurant, and a transformed rooftop pool deck.
The redesign, which also includes updated meeting spaces and suites, has been conceptualized to preserve the original feeling of the hotel while providing fresh features and improvements designed to improve the guest experience.
The London Bar and Boxwood Restaurant
The new London bar will sit adjacent to the lobby, providing a new gathering space available from morning to night. Richmond International designed the bar to bring new energy to the lobby and restaurant experience, implementing an island bar as the focal point that is visible from the main lobby. The bar will have studded leather panels, a marble stone top and exotic plant life wall covering. Lanterns will hang throughout the space as well.
The Boxwood dining room and sitting room were redesigned to provide a more open space for guests, allowing more natural light to fill the area and offering better views of the outdoors. The sitting room, foyer and dining room will have the capabilities to be divided, so guests can hold private receptions and meetings. Boxwood will also have tables by Miami-based Rotsen Furniture, as well as bespoke furniture designed and crafted specifically for the space.
Rooftop Pool
The new rooftop pool deck design, outlined by AKA Architecture + Design, was implemented to enhance the panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills while retaining the original English garden atmosphere.
The rooftop pool deck will now have a variety of spaces, including private cabanas with private seating, televisions and mini refrigerators, poolside sunning areas, and outdoor dining. The new spaces were added to make the rooftop deck a place for many different occasions.
The painted wood decks are being replaced with a natural wood palette, and modern planters are being replaced with classical urn-type planters, reminiscent of an English garden. These stylistic choices were made to preserve continuity in design throughout the building, yet also make it feel fresh and new.
The rooftop pool is exclusive to hotel guests and the redesign will complement the Boxwood on the Roof, which is located on the rooftop’s west side and open to both guests and the public.
