Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve has appointed Ritz-Carlton alum Mafalda Tavares as hotel manager. With 15 years of luxury hospitality experience, Tavares will handle the day-to-day operations and focus on maximizing revenues, and strengthening the services of the brand.
“Mafalda Tavares was hand-selected to manage the operation of the resort for her true passion in guaranteeing an extraordinary experience for our discerning guests and for her outstanding commitment leading our talented Ladies & Gentlemen,” said Ana Henriques, general manager of Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. “We are delighted to welcome Tavares’ energy and creativity to continue providing the legendary service of The Ritz-Carlton brand.”
A Portuguese native, Tavares joined The Ritz-Carlton Penha Longa Hotel & Golf Resort in Portugal as guest relations officer. She spent several years there, holding multiple progressive positions prior to joining the pre-opening team of Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Ubud, Bali, as director of sales, and contributed to its successful launch and positioning. After three years in Bali, Tavares worked as director of sales and marketing at Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Thailand. Another successful pre-opening role followed as director of sales and marketing of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, where she remained for three years prior to joining Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve.
