Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London to Reopen Public Spaces This December

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London will reopen its doors on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, in time for the holiday season. The hotel will welcome guests into all its public areas, including the restaurants, and entertaining and event spaces. It will also unveil the renovated and enlarged Spa at Mandarin Oriental, London. Earlier this year, just as the hotel was set to show off a slew of renovations, a fire broke out in a courtyard in between two wings, resulting in the temporary closure of the hotel.

In August, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London appointed Amanda Hyndman as its new general manager. In addition to her role as GM of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, Hyndman serves area vice president operations with responsibility for Mandarin Oriental, Munich and Mandarin Oriental, Prague.

Public Areas

International designer, Joyce Wang transformed the Lobby Lounge and Reception area, using contemporary materials juxtaposed with more traditional finishes, to blend seamlessly with The Rosebery’s nature inspired décor. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a centerpiece glass chandelier in the shape of a closed flower bud, which is complemented by an open flower blossom chandelier suspended over the lounge area. The reception artwork by Fredrikson Stallard, is an abstraction of the Plane Tree, the signature tree of Hyde Park.
