Come summer, the Mandarin Oriental, Paris will unveil a new signature suite that will rank among the largest in the French capital. Measuring more than 4,600 square feet, the so-called “Appartement Parisien” will comprise four bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.
Mandarin Oriental commissioned the Paris-based Agence Gilles & Boissier to decorate the interiors, after a successful design collaboration at the Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech five years ago. Dorothée Boissier explains that they sought to create a truly Parisian apartment, reflecting the contemporary lifestyle of Parisians today, to be “generously shared with international friends.” It represents a melange of styles—both Art Deco and Haussmannian.
The project involved transforming the existing rooms and suites on the sixth floor into one giant apartment, complete with a spacious reception area, light-filled dining room and fully equipped kitchen. Note that the apartment can also be configured as two large, two-bedroom suites that interconnect.
The most exciting feature is the landscaped terrace designed by Christophe Gautrand & Associés to resemble a classic French garden. Measuring 2,475 square feet, the terrace has multiple living spaces adapted to the different seasons, all surrounded by trees and lush greenery.
The signature suite is privy to views both over the hotel’s interior courtyard garden and also the prestigious rue Saint Honoré, home to some of the best designer shopping in the French capital. Mandarin Oriental, Paris, one of the city’s ultra-luxe palace hotels, has a privileged first arrondissement location, not far from the Tuileries Gardens and the Place Vendôme.
