Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich will open its doors this winter following a multimillion-dollar renovation. Founded by Johannes Baur in 1838, this property was Zurich’s first grand hotel. Located on Paradeplatz, the hotel is just steps away from high-end fashion houses, the historic old town and the promenade leading to Lake Zurich. The hotel marks Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s third property in Switzerland, and is accepting bookings for stays from March 1, 2024.
Redesigned by Paris-based interior designer Tristan Auer, the interiors merge historical details with modern style. Many of the 44 rooms and 36 suites offer balconies, terraces or private rooftops, presenting views of the city’s landmarks and the Swiss Alps. The hotel also includes a four-bedroom apartment spanning 2,960 square feet.
Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich will offer four culinary venues. Intimate and sophisticated, Orsini is a fine-dining Italian restaurant led by Consultant Chef Antonio Guida from the two-Michelin-starred Seta restaurant at Mandarin Oriental, Milan. It showcases authentic Italian culinary traditions with a contemporary international approach using ingredients sourced locally and from Italy. The French-inspired Savoy Brasserie & Bar offers all-day dining and signature cocktails. Guests can also unwind in the Mandarin Lounge or enjoy panoramic views from the new 1838 rooftop bar with a choice of Asian delights.
Given its prime location in the city center, Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich is the perfect place for special occasions such as weddings, parties, celebrations and corporate functions. Venues include a restored grand ballroom with stucco, mirrors and high ceilings.
To celebrate its upcoming opening, Mandarin Oriental Savoy has curated a “Be the First to Stay” package, which includes perks such as full daily breakfast, dining credit of $100 ($150 for suites) per stay, in-room chocolate tasting by traditional Swiss chocolatier Sprüngli, a visit to the art museum Kunsthaus Zurich and more.
