The 4-star Marriott Cancun Resort has just completed the renovations of its 414 guest rooms and 36 suites.
Completed by MC³ Architects, this project “lends a casual, beach-chic feel” to the oceanfront property, a press release said.
All rooms now have upgraded lighting with modern fixtures incorporating hazel, khaki and bronze shades and bathtubs have been replaced with new, large, glass showers with rainforest showerheads. There are new granite vanity tops with chrome fixtures to create “an elevated look and feel,” while some rooms were adjusted to enhance accessibility and “put a focus on” ocean views.
With the renovation, the Caribbean Suites and Executive Suites now include wraparound balconies with chaise lounges, tables and chairs.
The hotel’s sister property at the 5-star JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa is now undergoing renovations as well. When complete, the hotel’s guest rooms will bring a new design that aligns with the JW Marriott brand. Color palettes at this property are consisting of blues and whites with reclaimed wood accents, inspired by the resort’s oceanfront views and sandy beaches. This refurbishment also includes free standing soaking tubs, rainforest showers and more.
Both the finished project and the newly started JW Marriott project will cost over $40 million together.
The Marriott Cancun Resort and the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa are both set on the shores of the Caribbean, offering views of the sea as well as the Nichupté Lagoon. There is a bus that takes hotel guests to the city center, where there is nightlife, a shopping district and the Convention Center.
