Accor is bringing its MGallery brand to New York City.
The Paris-based hotel giant on Monday announced the signing of Ink 48, a 222-room property in Hell's Kitchen overlooking the Hudson River, which will become the boutique brand's U.S. flagship when it joins the collection in 2028 following a renovation. Rebel Hotel Company will manage the hotel, which continues to operate independently in the interim.
Ink 48 sits on Manhattan's far West Side within walking distance of Times Square, Hudson Yards, and the Broadway theater district. The hotel's 222 guest rooms include 17 suites and a signature penthouse, and the property is anchored by Hudson Local, its ground-floor restaurant, and Hudson VU, a rooftop bar with skyline views. Roughly 6,000 square feet of meeting and event space rounds out the offering, along with a fitness center.
"New York City is one of the world's most influential travel destinations, and welcoming Ink 48 into the MGallery Collection represents a significant step forward for our brand in North America," said Maud Bailly, CEO of Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems. "The hotel already enjoys a strong identity and a prime location, and through MGallery's focus on storytelling, design and memorable guest experiences, we will further enhance its character while introducing our distinctive hospitality vision to guests visiting the city from around the world. As our preeminent flagship MGallery in the United States, Ink 48 will play an important role in increasing brand awareness and supporting our continued expansion across the region."
The Manhattan deal extends a growth streak for Bailly, who has led Accor's reunited luxury brand family — Sofitel, Sofitel Legend, MGallery, and Emblems Collection — since early 2023. Emblems Collection, the group's ultra-luxury collection brand, has notched 15 signings with six openings on deck in Italy, Greece, and Canada. MGallery itself now counts more than 125 hotels worldwide and upward of 60 projects in development, with recent signings in Mykonos, the Maldives, and Dubai.
Ink 48 marks MGallery's second U.S. property after Hotel Ändra Seattle, and Accor is betting the brand has room to grow stateside: The U.S. ranks among MGallery's top five feeder markets globally, and the company has flagged both urban and leisure markets as expansion targets. Nine MGallery openings are planned worldwide before the end of 2026, including properties in Mykonos, Samos, the Maldives, and France's Île d'Oléron.
