Minor Hotels has announced the upcoming opening of a new luxury resort in the United Arab Emirates. The 22-key Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat is set to launch in Q4 2023 and will be located in Ghantoot, an enclave of coast approximately halfway between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Offering views of the Arabian Gulf, away from the skylines of the cities in either direction, Anantara Santorini is a 25-minute drive from Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport and 35-minute drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Created to reflect the buildings of its namesake island, the low-lying white buildings of Anantara Santorini house a collection of accommodations with spacious interiors, terraces and sea views. Facilities include the resort’s private beach, an outdoor pool overlooking the Gulf and an indoor cinema with the option of late-night movies and custom gourmet cuisine. Bespoke spa treatments can be enjoyed in private beachside cabanas; 24-hour butler service will also be available.
The culinary experiences at Anantara Santorini will include a restaurant dedicated to the heritage of the region (where local ingredients and spices are showcased), an ocean-side restaurant serving delicacies from Greece and a bar offering a range of beverages.
With this upcoming opening in the U.A.E., Minor Hotels continues its expansion in the Middle East, currently with eight Anantara hotels and resorts in the U.A.E. and a total of 11 in the region, and the group’s portfolio totaling 26 properties across five brands. Projects in the pipeline include properties in the U.A.E. and Qatar, plus upcoming openings in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
