René Blino joined Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Group on January 15, 2024, taking over from Danièle Garcelon as managing director of Monte-Carlo Beach. After a long career with the company, Garcelon, who has represented the "Beach" for over 20 years, passed on the torch to a professional in the contemporary luxury hotel industry.
Blino began his career in retail before joining the hotel industry 15 years ago. He joins the company from Paris, where he was managing director of Hôtel Madame Rêve, a five-star hotel with 82 rooms and known for its two-time Michelin-starred restaurant led by chef Stéphanie Le Quellec. He previously managed Hôtel Barrière les Neiges in Courchevel and Hôtel Barrière Le Gray d’Albion in Cannes.
Blino has a 360-degree knowledge of the luxury hotel business, having been human resources director, accommodations director, F&B director and hotel manager, mainly for the Shangri-la Group in Paris, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manille & Ho Chi Minh.
On the strength of his background and experience in the luxury and ultra-luxury sectors, Blino is taking over the management of Monte-Carlo Beach. Part of the hotel will reopen on April 5, 2024, and the entire resort on April 12 with the Monte-Carlo Beach Club.
Garcelon's highlights at the "Beach" include, in particular, the in-depth renovation of the establishment in 2009, which led to its fifth star, the commitment to sustainable development, the development of the dining offer with Elsa, and the recent opening of Maona Monte-Carlo.
