Small luxury lodge Pousada Trijuncão has opened. Located amidst the Brazilian savannah, known as the Cerrado, the new property marks the newest addition the global sustainable tourism association Bee + Hive.
The new property consists of seven suites, some with wraparound terraces and outdoor baths. Pousada Trijuncão offers picnics and al fresco grilled meals serenaded by local musicians, as well as a restaurant for guests only. Breakfast and outdoor and indoor kitchens are also available any time of the day.
The solar-powered, eco-property will provide an assortment of sustainable experiences. Guests can take night safaris to spot the jacaré-anão, a local species of alligators that is the smallest in the world. The property also leads safaris to search for the Brazilian jaguar, a trip to the spring of Formoso River and visits to the national park Grande Sertão Veredas.
Pousada Trijuncão is the latest addition to the sustainable tourism group Bee + Hive. Launched in January 2017, the organization brings together hotels, restaurants, and parks that embrace sustainable practices and benefit a destination’s local community and economy. Bee + Hive recently added Nay Palad Hideaways in the Philippines and Reserva do Ibitipoca in Brazil. Other members include Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef in Australia, Masuwe Lodge in Zimbabwe, Bananal Farm, Pousada Tutabel, Pousada Literária de Paraty and The Caiman Ecological Refuge in Brazil, and the Treehotel in Sweden.
