Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has been appointed by Erste Group Bank AG to manage Rosewood Vienna, which will open in 2021 as the brand’s fifth property in Europe.
The hotel will be housed in the historic 18th Century building that was the former headquarters for Erste Group Bank AG. Rosewood Vienna will be located at Petersplatz in Vienna’s Old Town, a short walk from the city’s shopping, dining, and famous historical sites.
Rosewood Vienna will combine European architecture and design with a refined/modern style. The hotel will have 99 guestrooms and suites, all of which will have separate spaces for entertainment and relaxation. BEHF Corporate Architects in Austria and the London-based Alexander Waterworth Interiors firm will oversee the project’s design.
The property’s dining and entertainment options will include a rooftop bar with views of the city and an intimate restaurant in a garden setting serving European cuisine and crafted cocktails.
Sense, A Rosewood Spa will serve as “a private sanctuary for relaxation away from the busy sights and sounds of the city,” according to a written release. Additionally, the hotel will include meetings and events spaces to allow for a variety of private gatherings and conferences.
Rosewood’s additional European properties includes Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, Rosewood London, the upcoming Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel opening July 5, 2017, and Rosewood Edinburgh opening in 2020.
Earlier this year, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco appointed Maria Gasparella as the new managing director. She had previously worked for Four Seasons Florence and Abu Dhabi.
Similarly, Rosewood London named Michael Bonsor as its managing director and Mike Bonner as director of sales and marketing. He was previously the hotel manager from its opening in 2013. At Rosewood London’s Scarfes Bar, guests can try caricature-themed drinks based off of work by artist Gerald Scarfe.
