Currently Unflagged Resort Set to Open in the Seychelles

The first images of a new resort being developed on Assomption in the Aldabra archipelago in Seychelles have been unveiled by Assets Group, the developer overseeing the new resort. The operator of the resort on Assomption will be announced in 2025, while the resort is expected to open in 2027.

The resort will include up to 40 sustainable and spacious villas with beach access, a spa and gym, all-day dining, outdoor cinema, a kids’ and beach club, and multiple dining choices. Guest experiences will include diving and snorkeling tours among coral reefs, as well as atoll sunset trips by boat.

The Aldabra region consists of the Aldabra group of islands—Aldabra, Assomption, Astove and Cosmoledo—and the Aldabra atoll islands of Grand Terre, Malabar, Picard and Polymnie. The gateway to all of these is the small Aldabra Islands airport located on Assomption Island, where the new resort will be located.

The area is teeming with colorful coral and marine life, birdlife, giant tortoises, dolphins, whale sharks and sea turtles. The Aldabra coral atoll is one of the world’s largest and reported to have been first discovered in 916 AD. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Indian Ocean, over 620 miles southwest of the main Seychelles island of Mahé.

Abid Butt, CEO of Assets Group, said: “The islands around Aldabra offer the most beautiful beaches, incredible wildlife and some of the best diving in the world. It is a perfect and pristine destination to create one of the finest and unique resorts, for those who appreciate the best in relaxation and rejuvenation, while we also focus on protecting and preserving the marine life and wider ecosystem.”
