Minor Hotels has announced the NH Collection brand’s Maldivian debut with NH Collection Maldives Havodda Resort. Slated to join the portfolio in August this year, the resort will be the NH Collection brand’s first property outside of an urban location.
Located in the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, the resort will offer 120 villas—60 beach and 60 over-water—each with views of the Indian Ocean. Culinary options range from an all-day dining experience with international cuisine, a beachside grill, poolside pizzas and a cocktail bar with light bites. The island also includes a dedicated Asian concept spa, a gym, a swimming pool and bar, and a children’s club. A water sports and dive center will house an expert team to provide guests with activities out on the water, along with the reef just off the beach, teeming with marine life.
The new resort will be the seventh property operated by Minor Hotels in the Maldives. It is also part of the NH Collection brand’s strategic expansion into new regions, with a particular focus on Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Further launches in the pipeline include NH Collection Chiang Mai and NH Collection Luang Prabang, as well as many new properties set to launch in China over the coming months. The brand also debuted in the United Arab Emirates earlier this year with the launch of NH Collection Dubai The Palm, with two further properties currently under development—one in Qatar and a second property in the U.A.E.
