Now Open: The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa

The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa, located at the base of Mount Otemanu, has officially opened. Having recently completed an extensive property-wide renovation and rebrand, the resort offers the largest collection of overwater bungalows in Bora Bora, alongside beachfront bungalows.

The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa offers 128 overwater bungalows, many of which have a private plunge pool. The resort also has 14 family-friendly beach bungalows. Pretty cool: Every room includes a signature bed, sleep-enhancing superfoods to be enjoyed in-room and more.

The resort is also home to six dining concepts, including Tipanier, an all-day French Polynesian bistro offering a breakfast buffet in the morning, alongside lunch and dinner options; Maere, the resort’s signature restaurant, with an ever-changing menu showcasing local produce; Varavara, the beachfront restaurant serving both lunch and dinner; Honu Tiki, the beach bar, which offers frozen drinks and light snacks; the poolside Te Ava, where guests can enjoy a range of dishes; the swim-up bar, which offers beverages and select dishes; and ‘O’a Bar, the outdoor lobby-lounge bar, where guests can enjoy signature craft cocktails with a view of Mt. Otemanu while enjoying live music.

Other facilities include an infinity pool at the heart of the resort, a private lagoon, the Heavenly Spa by Westin and the WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio with its gear-lending program and a selection of fitness classes such as yoga, Pilates and Tahitian dance. Tip: The WestinWORKOUT Routes, in collaboration with Strava, provide scenic running routes around the property.

Other activities include stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, beach volleyball, hydrofoil biking, paddle yoga sessions, snorkeling, scuba diving and deep-sea fishing excursions. Guests can also explore the cultural traditions of Bora Bora through local crafts and workshops and learn the art of coconut palm weaving, create shell crafts or participate in a flower crown weaving session. Guests can also experience the culture of the island with the resort’s weekly Polynesian evening complete with a buffet dinner and dance.

The resort’s Eco Center Bora Bora was originally established in 2000 in collaboration with the Direction of the Environment of French Polynesia. The recently revamped center will focus on the protection and conservation of sea turtle species, developing sustainable management of ecology in French Polynesia and educating and raising awareness among locals and travelers alike with a variety of experiences for guests.
