Santa Monica’s Oceana Beach Club Hotel will reopen this May under a new name once it finishes a $25 million renovation. To be called just Oceana, the refreshed hotel will offer a fully redesigned pool area, debut a new entrance and lobby and introduce custom-designed furnishings and amenities.
Accessible through the lobby and entrance area, the updated courtyard lounge and pool will now offer a dining pavilion, outdoor fire pits and James Perse teak furniture. Speaking of the hotel’s entryway, the two-story space has been completely redesigned and will now feature a unique hanging glass light installation created by Alison Berger. Also new, Oceana’s 70 guestrooms will provide custom furnishings, including Nepalese rugs, Loro Piana bedding, original artwork and Bottega Veneta bathroom amenities.
Oceana has 70 guest suites, many with ocean views. Accommodations range in size from 500 square feet for a studio suite to 1,700 square feet for the two-bedroom ocean-view suites. Depending on the room category, suites may include ocean-view balconies, fully-stocked kitchens and more.
The hotel also has its own restaurant that exclusively welcomes hotel guests. Tower 8, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, offers a menu of New American dishes based around local ingredients bought from the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market. Other hotel amenities include a full-service spa and fitness studio. Oceana will begin welcoming guests under its new name starting May 1.
