OCN Resort & Residences has announced its latest project blending luxury and sustainability in Puerto Escondido, Mexico. Slated for a summer 2024 opening, OCN—pronounced "ocean"—will be located on Palmarito Beach, offering a range of amenities and culinary concepts by James Beard Award-winning chef Brad Kilgore.
Puerto Escondido is home to more than 142 types of birds, including several endangered species. This biodiversity forms the backdrop for OCN Resort & Residences, where sustainability is ingrained into every aspect of the operations. The resort will comprise luxury vacation villas as well as units for purchase, each equipped with a private pool and rooftop space. Luxury villas will range from 1,500 to 3,000 square feet.
OCN Resort & Residences will also offer recreational activities that promote sensory experiences for those who want to find wellness and beauty in the wild. With Laguna de Manialtepec, a nine-mile bioluminescent lagoon nearby, visitors can enjoy a range of water activities, such as a late-night swim illuminated by the glowing waters, water skiing, surfing and wakeboarding during the day.
Additional highlights of the resort will include a sushi bar, cigar lounge, poolside lounge, espresso lounge, and a restaurant to be helmed by Chef Kilgore. From 24-hour concierge service to assist with booking excursions and resort reservations to high-speed internet and 24/7 security, the hospitality team will be on hand to create a relaxing experience catered to each guest’s specific needs. OCN Resort & Residences will also offer free transportation into Puerto Escondido and airport transfers through their in-house car service.
OCN has employed innovative architectural practices that minimize its ecological footprint while maximizing guests’ connection with nature. The property reinforces that responsible tourism and conservation go hand in hand.
OCN Resort & Residences will begin accepting resort bookings in spring 2024.
