The brand-new Orania.Berlin, located in the heart of Berlin at Oranienplatz in Kreuzberg, finds its home in a restored historic building dating to 1913. The Oranienpalast Café, as it was known at the time, was popular for its concerts – something Orania.Berlin hopes to recreate.
Artistic director Julien Quentin, an internationally acclaimed pianist who lives in Kreuzberg, has created a program that includes a mix of jazz, classical and electronic. Musicians will be sourced from Berlin. Jazz pianist Marc Schmolling, who also lives in Kreuzberg, will curate the Orania.Pure Jazz Series & Festival.
As for the hotel, the Orania.Berlin will have 41 rooms & suites, a Literary Salon overlooking the skyline of Berlin and a Living Room with two open fire places, open kitchen, cozy restaurant, stylish bar, and a Concert Stage with a grand Steinway Piano.
Managing director and Michelin Star-awarded chef, Philipp Vogel designed the menu drawing on Asian, European and South American influences. The sharing-style dishes will include crispy pork tail with aubergine, flank steak with chimichurri and watermelon as well as the house special a miso raspberry chocolate desert. The bar, one of the largest in Berlin, reportedly has an eclectic drinks menu.
The Orania.Berlin is a sister hotel of Schloss Elmau, the multi award-winning luxury spa retreat in the Bavarian Alps.
