Last year Kempinski celebrated its 120th birthday, and this year Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group is pulling out all the stops with the launch of a palatial hotel on the beach in Dubai later this year. In a destination known for over-the-top luxury hotels and experiences (indoor skiing, anyone?), the Emerald Palace Kempinski is raising eyebrows for its swanky facilities. For one thing, there are eight restaurants and bars, including MIX Tapas by Alain Ducasse—the first restaurant in the United Arab Emirates for the celebrity chef. Then there’s the 80-seat private cinema, the 1,600-foot private beach, and the Cinq Mondes spa that sprawls over 32,000 square feet.
Serviced by private butler, the 389 rooms and suites come with marble bathrooms, balconies, luxe Italian furnishings and all the latest technology. Some offer panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf, while others take in vistas of the Dubai skyline—from the landmark Burj Khalifa all the way to the Dubai Marina. Note that special family rooms are available. Looking for exclusivity and privacy? There are also eight four-bedroom villas on the beach with their own pools, jacuzzis and hammams.
Situated on the West Crescent of Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, the Emerald Palace Kempinski is said to be inspired by palaces of 18th century continental Europe. This is reflected in the grandiose design in the public spaces: think grand atrium, soaring marble columns and crystal chandeliers.
As quoted in Arabian Business, Sebastien Mariette, the hotel’s managing director, said, “We aim to offer a combination of timeless opulence and world-class luxury to guests visiting Dubai, guaranteed to create unforgettable memories.”
