The all-inclusive, adults-only Palm Island Resort & Spa in the Grenadines has unveiled the Seahorse Villa, a private retreat spread over 4,000 square feet. The villa offers views of the Caribbean Sea and Petit Martinique beyond.
The Seahorse Villa features a spacious hallway with locally crafted wooden furniture, set against a backdrop of whitewashed reclaimed wood with splashes of royal blue provided by the furnishings and tile work. Large wicker pendant shades are set in high vaulted ceilings. The living and dining areas are spacious and offer a dining table and chairs, sofas, a large screen television and internet. Sliding doors open onto a veranda, where guests can enjoy sunset cocktails or dinner under the stars.
The villa has two bedrooms with super-king size beds with headboards crafted from recycled plastic rugs. Guests can also expect TVs, huge walk-in closets with a small desk, a makeup table and en-suite bathrooms. The tiled bathrooms come with double basins, plush robes and sarongs, and large walk-in showers with handmade Mexican clay tiles. A stable door allows a view of the ocean. Guests can also enjoy an outdoor shower. In addition, the fully equipped laundry room offers plenty of storage space.
The kitchen has a breakfast bar and shelving made from salvaged ship masts, reclaimed from a shipwreck, and allowed to dry out before being artfully recycled. Essentials include a double-door fridge with icemaker, a four-burner stove, a double sink, a stainless-steel dishwasher, coffee and espresso makers, toaster, cutlery, crockery and glassware.
Guests can relax on the shaded veranda, in the private garden with day bed and sun loungers or on the private beach. The reflective paint on the villa’s exterior keeps it cool and reduces electricity consumption. They can also dine at either of the resort's two restaurants, the Royal Palm and the Sunset, besides enjoying the bars and options for secluded picnics or romantic dinners. Accommodations include Palm View rooms with garden or pool views to Beachfront rooms, Loft rooms and Suites. The resort also has a gym. Activities include snorkeling, kayaking and Hobie cat sailing. The resort hosts local reggae bands and a weekly cocktail party.
Since rates are all-inclusive, villa guests can enjoy all restaurants, bars and resort facilities. Inter-island flights will incur an additional fee.
