Following its first anniversary, Octant Hotels has unveiled four new suites at the boho-chic farmhouse hotel Octant Vila Monte. Located in the heart of the Algarve, surrounded by citrus trees and pink bougainvillea, the new Solarium and three Secret Suites reflect biophilic design principles to nurture guests’ relationship to the surrounding landscape.
Octant Vila Monte’s new boho finca-style Solarium and Secret Suites offer guests an even wider choice of "laid-back luxury," each complete with a private heated plunge pool and garden-view terrace. Located in the Casa de Cima building, adjacent to the central hotel, guests can enjoy the adults-only area with access to Octant Vila Monte’s À Terra restaurant, serving traditional Portuguese specialties, an outdoor pool and a solarium, the holistic wellness center and private butler service.
The new Solarium Suite mirrors the traditional Algarve architecture’s visual and spatial archetypes with geometric design patterns and contemporary furniture that draws on the country’s craft traditions, such as basketry and weaving. Outside, a garden with a private plunge pool and solarium ensures plenty of space for relaxation, while the terrace stretches along the entire length of the accommodation.
Perfect for couples, the three new Secret Suites offer added privacy and butler service. The design maximizes social spaces with an outdoor patio complete with furniture shaded by carob trees and an immersion pool. Each distinct in design, the three Secret Suites reflect the Algarve landscape.
Octant Vila Monte was created as a collaboration between architect Jorge Guimarães and landscape architect Teresa Barão. The hotel’s exterior design combines traditional Portuguese elements with contemporary lines. Outdoor terraces highlight the landscaped grounds spanning nine hectares, complete with aromatic plants, olive trees, water reservoirs and a vegetable garden. Vera Iachia, who has worked with Andy Warhol and Jacques Grange, designed the interiors, incorporating reinterpreted elements and materials from traditional Algarve architecture; these include decorative pieces made by local artisans, white masonry, mat grasses and traditional fabrics.
Additional facilities and services at the hotel include two swimming pools, a tennis court, wellness activities and experiences ranging from boat trips, picnics on a deserted beach, and customized experiences, such as private BBQs on the terrace, a private yoga class or bespoke spa treatment.
