With the new TRS Coral Hotel—newly named a member of Leading Hotels of the World (LHW)—set to open this November in Mexico, Luxury Travel Advisor caught up with officials from parent company Palladium Hotel Group to talk what advisors and their clients can expect from the property.
“We’ve been looking at the destination for a long time,” Pilar Arizmendi, vice president of sales and marketing – the Americas for Palladium, says of the property’s location on an unspoiled stretch of beach just across from Isla Mujeres (an up-and-coming destination in its own right). The adults-only TRS Coral will also be part of the same complex as the new, family-friendly Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa, giving Coral guests access to additional restaurants through Palladium’s Dine Around program.
Food and, particularly, beverage will be an emphasis at the new property. “You’ll be able to have lobster for breakfast, lunch and dinner,” notes Zach Klein, a business development manager with Palladium. Klein says that guests will even be able to order 24-hour room service through guestroom televisions as part of a recent series of tech upgrades for the brand.
“It’s done in a very boutique style,” says Arizmendi of the resort’s amenities. As part of the brand’s “Infinite Indulgence” concept, guests will receive four bottles of premium liquor per room, personalized to their preferences. Additionally, activities like salsa dancing lessons that may be done as a group for Grand Palladium guests will be available on a personalized schedule for guests at TRS Coral.
We love that Palladium has developed an “Uber-style” smartphone app, which guests can use to summon an electric golf cart and driver to their location for transportation around the resort complex. A canal system also carries electric boats throughout the area.
Another highlight at the property promises to be the Chic Cabaret & Restaurant, which officials say is already a guest favorite at the TRS Yucatan Hotel.
“We’re bringing Vegas to Mexico,” Klein says of the cabaret show, which pairs a seven-course meal with live entertainment.
Also planned is Helios, an Ibiza-style beach club serving up an international tapas-style menu on personal skillets. For tennis buffs, a Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre will offer training programs adapted to all ages and skill levels.
The 469-room property will also have butler service (with, we’re told, a 2.7:1 staff to guest ratio), and a 43,000-square-foot Zentropia by Palladium Spa & Wellness. Each room will have a balcony or terrace, whirlpool bath, direct access to exclusive swim-up pools and views over the Costa Mujeres landscape.
Reservations are now being accepted for stays beginning November 1.
