The Pulitzer Amsterdam announced that it will begin hosting intimate gatherings with Pulitzer-acclaimed writers as part of its Lunch & Literature Series. Founded by the great-grandson of the Pulitzer Prize founder Joseph Pulitzer, the hotel plans for the gatherings to celebrate its heritage and its association with the world-famous prize.
The talks will begin in the Pulitzer Amsterdam’s secluded Copper Rooms. Upon arrival, guests will receive a glass of cava before settling in to listen to a Pulitzer Prize-nominated writer discuss their works and career, detailing how and why the prize is so important to the world of literature.
Over lunch in the hotel’s restaurant Jansz, guests will have the opportunity to ask the writer any questions they may have, focusing on topics related to the literary world. The three-course meal will include dishes such as beef tartare served with quail egg, orecchiette pasta with truffle and crème brulee as well as a glass of wine or soft drinks.
The Lunch & Literature Series will kick off on February 23 with a visit from Pulitzer Prize-winning author and poet Tyehimba Jess. Jess won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry for his book Olio, a collection of poetry that focuses on the story behind America’s blues, work songs and church hymns.
