Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara Celebrates 10 Years

It’s been a decade since the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara opened in the vast dunes of the Empty Quarter, the world’s largest continuous sandy desert. This scenic setting is a 90-minute drive from downtown Abu Dhabi, but immerses visitors in a remote desert experience that’s unparalleled. Just ask the readers of Luxury Travel Advisor, who voted it the Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World in March.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara has unveiled some cool new experiences and facility enhancements. Chief among them is the Bedouin Night Camping Experience (pictured above), which allows guests the opportunity to sleep under the stars in traditional Bedouin-style tents surrounded by enormous, rolling sand dunes. Arrive by camel or 4x4, followed by a check-in with Arabic coffee and dates, then enjoy a Emirati dinner in the Hadheera. Activities in the desert include archery and falconry shows.

Back at the resort, check out the resort’s newly renovated Ghadeer restaurant (complete with a pizza oven), new theme-night buffets at Al Waha restaurant and new live cooking demos at the outdoor Al Falaj restaurant. After a renovation, the spa is rolling out an array of new treatments and wellness offerings (like hot yoga). Meanwhile, a new multi-purpose outdoor events area can accommodate up to 200 guests in a desert setting and a new kids club entertains younger guests with myriad activities. Last but not least: All guestrooms have been kitted out with technology upgrades.
