QT Hotels & Resorts is set to open its second New Zealand hotel, QT Queenstown, on December 1. The 69-room hotel in Queenstown will place guests against the backdrop of Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables mountains, offering outdoor activities, fine dining and designer accommodations.
The hotel has public spaces designed by hotel and interior designer Nic Graham, taking inspiration from the property’s natural surroundings. QT Queenstown’s lavender, blue and charcoal gray color palette was chosen by Graham to highlight the white-peaked mountains and the blue waters of the lake. Additionally, the timber-lined ceilings, split rock walls and leather accents are a nod to the town’s reputation as a scenic outdoor destination. QT Queenstown’s public spaces also put more focus on the surrounding scenery.
The guestrooms at the hotel will include the brand’s trademark Gel Beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, designer furnishings, Nespresso machines, Malin+Goetz amenities and Gin Martini kits with local Karven spirits exclusive to QT.
In-room items will include chocolates produced by the nearby Remarkables Sweet Shop, ceramic birds in the form of New Zealand’s native Tui, screen-printed bed cushions made from pine trees and a minibar with products from the Central Otago region. The bathrooms are equipped with white marble, stand-alone bathtubs and matte black furnishings.
The highest room category, The Remarkable King, is located on the top floor and includes a charcuterie board and cocktails upon arrival, daily fresh pastry and fruit basket, and late checkout.
The hotel restaurant and bar, Bazaar Interactive Marketplace and Reds Bar, are on the sixth floor, offering international cuisine and a selection of signature cocktails that use local ingredients, spirits, and inspiration from the surrounding flora and fauna.
QT Queenstown also includes a ski room with all the essentials for winter sport activities, and its location places guests a short walk away from other dining, sightseeing and active experiences.
