A new “tropical grand mansion” in Anguilla has crossed our radar. Here’s the skinny on Quintessence “Q” Hotel Anguilla, slated to open its door in January 2018. Michigan News (M Live) reports that this “mansion resort hotel” is a pet project of the famous Detroit attorney Geoffrey Fieger. (“Associated with high-dollar, high-profile lawsuits…and a failed 1998 gubernatorial run,” explains M Live, Fieger is also known for having won in 2011 “the largest medical malpractice lawsuit in history for $144 million.”)
Billed as a “tropical grand mansion,” the Q Hotel is the first hotel to open on Anguilla, an idyllic Caribbean island in the British West Indies, since the devastation of Hurricane Irma. In a statement, Fieger said, "My wife, Keenie, and I have lived on Anguilla for more than 30 years, and we have built The Q to make guests feel as if they are being hosted in our grand tropical home. We are eager to show visitors that Anguilla is as strong and beautiful as ever.”
The Q Hotel will offer just nine individual suites, villas and penthouses—equipped with Hastens beds, serviced by 24/7 personal butlers— and the mansion is available for a full buyout (accommodating 22 guests). Overseen by Chef Dominique Thevenet, Julians restaurant has already opened— serving Caribbean cuisine with a French twist. Guests can also participate in wine tastings in the wine cellar.
Recreational activities run the gamut from tennis to yoga, and fully customized spa treatments can take place in the outdoor spa pavilion or the couples suite.
