New for 2022, Red Carnation Hotels has launched its own dedicated chain code in the GDS, “RN,” as the hotel company ended its longstanding affiliation with The Leading Hotels of the World and prepares to open its 19th property, 100 Princes Street, in Edinburgh this summer.
Red Carnation also announced the appointment of leading luxury travel representation company Rebecca Recommends to further strengthen its sales relationships in the U.S.
Looking forward, the collection’s latest property, 100 Princes Street in Edinburgh, is set to open on June 1, 2022, and is now live on the ‘RN’ chain code for bookings. Andrew Phelan, who most recently acted as director of operations for Ashford Castle, will serve as general manager.
Led by the design team behind the Ashford Castle in Ireland—Toni Tollman, Philippe Bonino and Brian Brennan—the restoration will look to protect and retain the original “heart and soul” of 100 Princes Street. Inspired by Alexander McQueen, the design team sought to create a sense of place, working with local artisans to create bespoke pieces; these custom design features include tartan designed by Araminta Campbell and a central staircase that has a hand-painted mural by Croxford & Saunders, honoring the adventures of several great Scottish explorers.
