The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua has welcomed Jon Gersonde, a luxury hospitality veteran in the Hawaiian Islands, as its general manager. He brings three decades of experience and leadership expertise to this role at the resort.
In his capacity as general manager, Gersonde will oversee all aspects of the resort, focusing on delivering exceptional guest experiences and enlivening the service values of The Ritz-Carlton brand. His leadership skills and commitment to excellence are expected to enhance the luxury Maui resort’s reputation as a preferred travel destination.
Gersonde has immersed himself into Hawai‘i’s local culture and community, and has led numerous sustainability and regenerative tourism initiatives throughout his career. Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton Maui, he served as vice president and managing director at O‘ahu’s Turtle Bay Resort, which recently transitioned to a Ritz-Carlton property.
He has also held pivotal roles as vice president of operations, managing director, and general manager for developments including the 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, The Royal Hawaiian, Kapalua Bay Hotel and The Westin Maui. His hospitality leadership also spans around the world including senior hotel positions in Australia, Asia, California, Florida, the Western Pacific, and the Caribbean.
