Marriott International has inked an agreement with NEOM to open its second Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Saudi Arabia. The property is anticipated to open in Trojena, a year-round mountain destination located in the northwest region of the country.
The resort is expected to offer just 60 villas with one to four bedrooms and views across the desert and mountain ranges of the destination. Plans also include a range of amenities, including a spa, pools and multiple culinary venues.
Trojena, one of the flagship developments within NEOM, is being developed and positioned as a year-round adventure sports destination that will offer such activities as skiing, water sports, hiking and mountain biking. Trojena will also have apartments, chalets, retail, dining, entertainment, leisure, sports and recreational facilities, and other hospitality offerings, including a W Hotel and a JW Marriott Hotel.
The new property will join the recently opened Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. The hotel is located on a set of private islands that are part of the Red Sea’s Blue Hole cluster of islands. The resort has 63 one- to four-bedroom water and beach villas, in addition to a spa, swimming pools, multiple dining venues, a retail area, a conservation center and a range of leisure and entertainment offerings. The destination also includes 18 Ritz-Carlton Reserve branded residences.
Ritz-Carlton Reserve currently comprises a collection of only six properties in destinations including Thailand, Indonesia, Puerto Rico and Mexico. The signing of the Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Trojena marks the seventh collaboration announced between Marriott International and NEOM.
