Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Resort invites guests to explore five brand-new experiences: Tea with Tiepolo, Galleria Colonna, Roman Food Tour, Private Tour of the Vatican Gardens and Island Hopping Around the Italian Pontine Islands.
Tea with Tiepolo
Rome Cavalieri is home to a collection of masters’ paintings, French period furniture, tapestries, sculptures and other artifacts. The resort invites guests to explore the collection with their Tea with Tiepolo experience, which comprises a private tour of the hotel’s art collection led by an art historian, followed by tea for two in the Tiepolo Lounge. Guests enjoying tea time at the Tiepolo Lounge will experience a selection of teas and pastries created by executive pastry chef Dario Nuti.
Galleria Colonna
The resort will offer guests the opportunity to experience the Galleria Colonna, a palatial block of buildings in central Rome, through a private tour. With only a limited number of visiting hours allowed per month to the general public, guests at the hotel will arrive by private Mercedes S Class and will be brought inside the hall during a time when it’s closed to the public, where they will be given a tour. Returning back to the hotel, guests will be greeted with a personalized note along with a coffee table book on the Galleria Colonna.
Roman Food Tour
For foodies staying at the hotel, the Roman Food Tour will include a hands-on opportunity to learn the ins and outs of Italian cuisine. Guests partaking in the private culinary journey will have their own Mercedes S Class at their disposal for the duration of the seven-hour food excursion around Rome. The tour will include an olive oil tasting, homemade pasta cooking class and gelato making class at Giolitti, under the guidance of gelato makers.
Private Tour of the Vatican Gardens
A private tour of the Vatican Gardens will offer travelers the chance to explore the gardens and learn about the history of the papacy, in addition to gaining insight into the independent Vatican City. In a two-hour private access tour led by a Vatican appointed guide, guests will receive a roundtrip transfer in a Mercedes S Class and return to their room with a personalized note along with a coffee table book on the Vatican Gardens.
Island Hopping Around the Italian Pontine Islands
Rome Cavalieri’s Island Hopping offers travelers a chance to be transported to the Urbe Heliport where they will then board an Executive Helicopter AW139. Aboard the AW139, travelers will be able to view the islands of Ponza, Palmarola, Zanone and Ventotene. The helicopter will then land on Ponza island, where guests will be escorted on a private boat tour with a local guide exploring some of the secluded areas of the island for snorkeling or sunbathing. Guests can then enjoy a locally sourced lunch on-board. Prior to departing the resort in a Rolls Royce, guests will be given a personalized Rome Cavalieri duffle bag with a pareo cover up, swimwear, sunscreen, and a hat.
