Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has announced the reopening of Rosewood Bangkok in Thailand and Rosewood Luang Prabang in Laos. It has also offered key updates for Thailand property Rosewood Phuket and Rosewood Phnom Penh in Cambodia.
Located in the business and retail district of Ploenchit, the recently reopened Rosewood Bangkok unveiled 17 new guestrooms, wellness studios, signature suites and luxury residence-style houses: Nara House, Thara House and the Bannakarn House. The new houses offer terraces with private plunge pools, wellness facilities and city views framed by floor-to-ceiling windows.
Nara House showcases a collection of sculptures and paintings. Situated on the 23rd floor, the 2,238-square-foot Thara House follows the same design cues as Nara House but offers extra living space. Both houses can be combined with a Premier Suite to expand these accommodations into two-bedroom residences. Situated on the hotel’s top floor, Bannakarn House has a lounge area, alabaster cocktail bar, 10-seat dining table and a full chef’s kitchen complete with a wine cooler, full-sized refrigerator and other appliances. It also offers a separate powder room, walk-in closet and an outdoor terrace with sunbeds and a plunge pool. Residents will have exclusive access to a VIP elevator via a private entrance. Two exclusive Sense Studios offer a wellness retreat experience, with Juliet balcony, temperature-controlled in-room treatment bed, whirlpool and therapies from Sense, A Rosewood Spa.
Set to reopen on October 1, 2022, Rosewood Luang Prabang is the brand’s first property with luxury tented accommodations. Bordered by a riverbank, the resort offers 23 accommodations including four deluxe rooms, four specialty suites, three riverside villas, six pool villas and six luxury tents, which include private dining areas and wraparound decks. Dining options consist of The Great House, a bistro serving Laotian flavors; and the Elephant Bridge Bar, which serves cocktails and snacks. Sense, A Rosewood Spa draws on locally harvested botanicals to create Laotian therapies. Located next to a waterfall on a large open space behind The Great House, the oval pool is the focal point of the property, where guests can relax on sun beds under tented cabanas.
Rosewood Phuket, a beachfront property at Emerald Bay and home to Asaya, an integrative wellness concept, will debut new programming on October 1. The seasonal program “Fall into Wellness,” is available to both guests and locals, and offers a half-day experience dedicated to assisting participants in discovering their personal path to wellness. The program begins with a 45-minute consultation, followed by a selection of treatments based on five modalities: Physical, emotional, fitness, skin and nutrition. The program ends with a customized two-course meal.
The resort has launched the Rosewood Explorers Kids Club, which offers yoga classes, besides the “Garden Explorers” program, which teaches them about the benefits of herbs and vegetables grown on-site. As a part of the “Eco Discovery Walk,” children will learn about the resort’s sustainable practices and carbon-footprint reduction methods. Additional activities include a “Make Your Own Paper” class; an “Ocean Life” class where they learn about the property’s coral reef restoration program and participate in ocean science activities; and an “Eco Fashion” class where children will get to design outfits from recycled materials. Sustainable activities are available for adults as well.
From November 24-26, Rosewood Phnom Penh will welcome head bartender Giacomo Giannotti from Paradiso, Barcelona’s popular speakeasy bar. The property will also relaunch its partnership with celebrity chef Rotanak Ros, better known as “Chef Nak,” to introduce a new Khmer menu at Brasserie Louis. The exclusive menu will present 10 local recipes, including three royal dishes featured in Chef Nak’s upcoming cookbook, “SAOY – The Forgotten Flavors of Royal Cambodian Home Cuisine,” slated for publication in late 2022.
