Rosewood Mandarina Debuts in Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit

Rosewood Mandarina in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, has opened its doors to welcome guests. Nearly a decade in the making, this all-suite resort is owned by developer RLH Properties and marks Rosewood’s fourth property in Mexico.

Each of the 134 accommodations—including three specialty suites and two standalone villas—offers a private plunge pool and a large terrace. Cliffside accommodations are positioned to take advantage of the ocean vistas; beachfront suites offer the direct access to the Pacific Ocean and Canalan beach; and suites set within the resort’s flatlands include outdoor spaces with views of the landscape. The Canalan Beachfront Villa is positioned directly on the sand, just steps from the shore, and spans two floors. It includes two king bedrooms, a full kitchen, indoor dining and living spaces, a private gym, media room, jacuzzi, an indoor garden, a deep soaking tub, an infinity pool and outdoor rain shower. Meanwhile, the 13,000-square-foot Cora Mountaintop Villa commands views of the surrounding mountains and ocean, and houses four bedrooms, a media room, private gym and a cliffside private infinity lap pool.

Rosewood Mandarina also offers five food and beverage outlets, including La Cocina, which is on the beach and serves Mexican cuisine; Barra Peñasco, perched on a hidden cliff above the roaring Pacific, offers a cocktail experience rooted in shamanic traditions and mixology; Buena Onda, set at the base of the mountain, just beside the main pool area, serves refreshing drinks and coastal Spanish fare; and opening later this year is Toppu, the resort’s mountaintop signature restaurant, which will offer Japanese cuisine and beverages.

Wellness offerings at Rosewood Mandarina include the Asaya Spa, which offers a range of treatments rooted in local traditions as well as family-focused wellness programs. Beyond the spa, guests can extend their wellness journey through pursuits like pickleball and surfing or outdoor yoga and spiritual hikes to the ancient La Abuela tree, a site held as sacred for centuries.

As part of the Mandarina development, the resort offers an array of curated experiences, from surfing and ziplining to horseback riding and polo matches at the Mandarina Equestrian Club, as well as the Mandarina Golf Club. On-property adventures include a ziplining journey and ropes course through the jungle canopy. Guests will also have access to the Mandarina Polo & Equestrian Club. They can watch polo matches, take private lessons or try their hand at the sport. Guided horseback excursions are available. The club is also planning a therapeutic equine program, harnessing the healing energy of horses to foster balance, growth and self-discovery. Other facilities include the Greg Norman-designed, nine-hole Mandarina Golf Club overlooking the Sierra de Vallejo mountain range; and the Explorers Club, with hands-on activities such as nature hikes, water adventures, fossil searches, sustainability workshops and cultural field trips, all crafted to engage young minds while fostering environmental awareness.

Guests are also invited to participate in experiential activities that give back while enhancing their stay. Opportunities include art workshops led by native artisans, spiritually focused nature experiences and hands-on community-building and recycling initiatives that support underserved populations.
