The RuMa Hotel and Residences, the latest property by Urban Resort Concepts, has officially opened. Located in Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, the new-build luxury hotel will offer sweeping views of the city, including its iconic Petronas Towers.
Led by the Shanghai-based design firm MQ-studio, the hotel’s design combines contemporary design with Malaysian cultural influences, handcrafted furniture and artisanal pieces. The hotel’s decorations, many by local designers Dato Sri Bernard Chandran and Joe Chia, will include a Moorish-inspired, woven bronze screen and a locally handcrafted bronze water fountain enclosed in a terracotta birdcage.
The property hosts two specialty dining venues: ATAS Modern Malaysian Eatery and SEVEN Bar and Lounge. With Tyson Gee as executive chef, ATAS serves seasonal dishes from throughout the Malay Peninsula. SEVEN offers an assortment of refreshments and light meals, as well as a menu of craft cocktails.
The RuMa also features a 25-meter outdoor infinity pool and sundeck that has been cantilevered from the building. Overlooking the skyline, the area also includes a dedicated pool bar and lounge. Elsewhere on the property guests can visit the 24-hour fitness center, one of the hotel’s several technologically-equipped meeting venues and, in early 2019, a UR Spa.
The RuMa Hotel and Residences marks The Leading Hotels of the World’s first entry in Kuala Lumpur. The hotel is operated by Urban Resort Concepts, a hotel management company.
