Oetker Collection has appointed Sandro Fabris as the managing director of Jumby Bay Island, West Indies. Fabris will take the helm of Jumby Bay Island in November 2018, managing the operations and ensuring excellent service for guests. In addition to maintaining the reputation of Jumby Bay Island, Fabris will continue to position the resort as one of the most desired destinations in the world.
Fabris’ early career saw him appointed as hotel manager at the Cipriani in Venice, Italy in 1992, followed by general manager at the Quinta do Lago Hotel in Almancil, Portugal in 1996. In 2010, Fabris became regional managing director, South Africa, for Orient Express (now Belmond) before his most recent position as general manager at the Half Moon Resort in Jamaica since 2015.
“I’m delighted to have Sandro on board at Jumby Bay Island and I am convinced that his wealth of experience combined with his talent as a great host will take Jumby Bay to new heights,” says Frank Marrenbach, CEO of Oetker Collection, in a written release.
Jumby Bay Island is a 300-acre private island in the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda. Having joined Oetker Collection in late 2017, under new management, the resort has undergone a restoration program to inject a new lease of life into the island. The resort re-opened this month with a slick, fresh new look.
Oetker Collection has a portfolio of unique luxury properties, including L’Apogée Courchevel, Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa, Le Bristol Paris, Château Saint-Martin & Spa, Eden Rock – St Barths, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, The Lanesborough and Palácio Tangará.
