Secret Bay, Dominica’s all-villa, Relais & Châteaux rainforest resort and residences, has announced the appointment of Craig Sands as its general manager.
With more than 16 years of hospitality industry experience, Sands brings strategic leadership, operational aptitude and a commitment to guest and staff satisfaction. Sands will be responsible for further solidifying Secret Bay's eco-luxury and sustainability initiatives while also introducing more eco-friendly programs. Additionally, he plans to create more unique experiences that highlight Dominica’s natural and cultural beauty, such as curated adventure tours and wellness retreats. Further, Sands aims to incorporate technology that will streamline operations and personalize guest stays, ensuring convenience and luxury, and also investing in staff development through training and recognition programs to reinforce the staff’s value.

Sands career in luxury hospitality management has included multiple roles, even serving as a waiter early in his career and continuing to climb the ranks from there. He most recently served as general manager at The Relais Henley Hotel and The Relais Cooden Beach Hotel. His industry contributions have earned him recognition as an innovator and leader driven by a vision to continue pushing the boundaries of excellence and crafting unforgettable experiences. Beyond his industry experience, Sands holds an advanced diploma in hotel management level 5.
