One of the most popular luxury resorts in the Bahamas, One&Only Ocean Club, got a new look this year when the resort undertook a massive renovation before re-opening in February.
New and returning guests will notice refurbished guest rooms and suites and a new The Martini Bar, which is complete with a specialty olive menu in the former Library. Also, the resort redesigned the restaurant Dune by Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and the Dune Bar. New menus were also aded at all of the restaurants.
Dune now features porcelain floor tiles, as well as warm grey upholstery accented with coral fabrics in abstract and geometric patterns. Additionally, the Dune Bar features a chic chandelier comprised of a collection of hand woven conical baskets, and enhanced ocean views from enlarged windows.
The latest addition is The Martini Bar, which will offer new combinations to the classic martini, as well as past guests’ favorite cocktails. Guests have always loved to relax in The Library over a nightcap, and can now enjoy the new experience while sipping on cocktails during the day on the terrace watching the tides change, and play croquet in the garden, or enjoy a bespoke drink over a board game before heading off to dinner.
Guests will also be enticed by new menus from the resorts executive chef Sebastian Agnes, who spent the last eight years at sister resort, One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, Mexico. At OCEAN, the restaurant at the infinity-edge Ocean Pool overlooking the beach below, guests will find dishes with Mexican flavors, inspired by chef’s time at One&Only Palmilla, as well as Bahamian twists with the addition of seared fish tacos with serano dip. The restaurant will open for lunch daily and serve dinner on the weekends.
Dune will see healthier breakfast options with the addition of freshly squeezed juices and homemade smoothies, as well as an extensive breakfast buffet and a la carte options. The lunch and dinner menus will feature a roasted lobster burger with green chili mayonnaise and a steamed shrimp salad with avocado and tomato Champagne vinaigrette.
The Versailles Terrace, set atop the Versailles Gardens, now features dishes with more Bahamian, French and Mediterranean influences.
