(The official website describes the vibrant neighborhood as “Bali’s hub for all things bright and beautiful.” The famous Kudeta restaurant is next door, as are “barefoot beach bars and slick cocktail lounges, market stalls and chic designer boutiques.”)
At The Seminyak, traditional thatched pavilions are set within lush landscaping and lily ponds; the ocean and garden-facing villas are elegantly designed with distinct Balinese touches. Feeling flush? The Seminyak Penthouse has a fully-stocked bar, a Jacuzzi, and—for those who just can’t disconnect—a boardroom for private meetings. Good to know: The Seminyak Beach Resort prizes guest privacy and space, but if you’re traveling with an entourage or your family in tow, it’s possible to select adjoining rooms.
Following the facelift, The Seminyak has joined Small Luxury Hotels of the World this month, alongside four other properties around the world: Villa Orsula Dubrovnik, Hotel Excelsior (also in Dubrovnik, Croatia), Healthouse Las Dunas (Estepona, Spain), and Hui Yue Boutique Hotel (Xuzhou, China).
Bed down at The Seminyak Beach Resort and you’ll be privy to the infinity pool overlooking the beach, along with a bevy of F&B outlets including the Sanje Restaurant and Lounge for Mediterranean cuisine on the sand; Santan (all-day dining and Balinese food in a pavilion); and Klass & Brass, “a Hemingway-inspired Whisky & Wine Bar that taps into a 1920s/30s vibe.” There’s also the renowned Kahyangan Spa and a fitness center.
