Shangri-La Le Touessrok, Mauritius is slated to reopen on October 19 following extensive renovations. The project involved the resort’s 185 guestrooms and suites, and public spaces. The resort has also introduced two new food and beverage outlets.
The resort’s new design features sculptural pieces and accessories inspired by traditional weaving techniques. Each room has rattan furnishings and black-and-white photography that captures the island’s cultural heritage. The guest experience is enhanced by curated local delicacies and artisanal gifts, such as handcrafted batik scarves and lychee wine.
As part of the renovation, Shangri-La Le Touessrok has unveiled two new restaurants, TSK (Touessrok, Soul Kitchen) and Coco’s. Additionally, three of its existing F&B outlets have been refreshed. These include Japanese restaurant, Kushi; Indian restaurant, Safran; and Sega Bar, where guests can enjoy live music along with a range of beverages.
TSK echoes the layout of a Mauritian home with a kitchen, dining room, terrace and library. With live cooking stations, TSK offers a fusion of local Mauritian flavors and international cuisine. Coco’s restaurant and bar offers views of Hibiscus Beach and serves local seafood paired with wines. The venue also plays host to regular themed culinary nights.
Guests can enjoy range of experiences and activities, from exploring the private island of Ilot Mangénie, tasting vintage wines in the resort’s Vinoteca wine cellar and honey harvesting, to guided e-bike tours, private champagne cruises and beach dinners under the stars. Wellness-seekers can unwind with Reiki sessions and a range of locally inspired treatments and therapies at Chi, The Spa. They can also enjoy spa treatments on the beach, complete with butler service, luxurious amenities and more.
In keeping with Shangri-La’s commitment to protecting the environment, Shangri-La Le Touessrok’s renovation incorporates sustainable practices to preserve the island for future generations.
