In 1994, a 350,000-acre reserve was set aside by the Tanzanian government next to Serengeti National Park, home of the Great Migration. The Grumeti Community and Wildlife Conservation Fund was granted the right to manage the reserve in 2002, and it’s here where the Singita Faru Faru Lodge offers safari-loving guests exclusive access to the reserve and the renowned wildebeest migration route. In the latest news from this corner of the country, the lodge has just unveiled a makeover.
The redesign of Singita Faru Faru Lodge combines traditional African craftsmanship with a clean Scandinavian minimalism. Tribal patterns and handcrafted furniture by local artisans can be found throughout the property, which showcases natural colors, materials and textures. The main living and dining areas have been expanded, so that now guests can dine in the shade in newly enclosed lounge spaces. You’ll also find a new interactive kitchen and a convivial “bar-deli” for snacks and drinks while observing the views and wildlife next to the waterhole.
The lodge facilities include a swimming pool, spa, boutique and fitness center. Families are welcome, with special programs developed for children. Activities run the gamut from game drives and community visits to guided safari walks and anti-poaching unit visits.
Singita is a 25-year-old conservation brand and hospitality company behind 12 luxury camps in five regions in Africa. In partnership with the Grumeti fund, Singita has pioneered projects like the Anti-Poaching Canine Unit, Elephant Collaring Experience and the new Serengeti Girls Run.
