Six Senses Launches “Female Wellness” Program

Six Senses has announced the introduction of “Female Wellness” programs. With a focus on perimenopause, menopause, and holistic female well-being, each bespoke three-, five- or seven-day Female Wellness journey is designed to provide women with the insights and tools to keep their hormones and metabolism balanced through times of transition and during their monthly cycle. The program will initially be rolled out at five properties—Six Senses Douro Valley, Six Senses Rome, Six Senses Kanuhura, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay and Six Senses Crans-Montana—with a view to extending them to all Six Senses properties thereafter.

The program begins with a non-invasive Wellness Screening that measures guests’ key biometric markers. Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) is used throughout the program to track their blood sugar levels as they follow fasting principles in harmony with their hormonal cycle.

Integrated Wellness Practitioners at each Six Senses property devise a unique plan for each guest, informed by their Wellness Screening. Thereafter, a combination of holistic and locally inspired treatments, therapies and activities aim to relax the nervous system and support the oxytocin boost stimulated by fasting. A sleep tracker or sleep tracking ring can be arranged on a complimentary basis to measure a wide range of metrics throughout the program. Results are analyzed during a sleep review to pinpoint any changes that may need to be made for the following night. The programs harness the knowledge of Dr. Mindy Pelz, a bestselling author and advocate of holistic wellness approaches.

Guests will follow a fasting program in sync with their cycle. Those embarking on a menopause or perimenopause program will cycle between fasting, ketosis, and hormone-stimulating foods with a focus on healthy carbohydrates and fibers. All foods follow the three guiding principles of Eat With Six Senses: natural ingredients, local and sustainable, and less is more. Menus focus on quality, balance and fresh whole food made from scratch. Produce is often grown within the organic gardens and mushroom hubs of Six Senses properties and in some locations, the eggs and milk come from onsite farms.

The three-day program explores the foundations of hormonal and metabolic health. The extended five-day program allows for a deeper exploration of the key factors that influence hormonal balance, mood, cravings, sleep, weight and mental clarity. The seven-day program aims to forge longstanding connections between fasting, food, exercise, self-care and hormonal balance, and places a greater emphasis and intention on weight release, metabolic flexibility and detox principles that can support long-term hormonal health and overall well-being once home.

There are several videos recorded by Dr. Pelz that introduce the approach and tools, the rhythm of menstrual and hormone cycles, and how exercise and fasting should follow suit, how fasting affects sex hormones, fertility, key transitions during menopause, journaling, repairing the microbiome, and essential lifestyle changes to make after 40. After checking out, women can continue to walk the path to improved wellness by joining Pelz’s Reset Academy forum.

The Female Wellness programs will be available year-round and can be followed as a solo traveler or as part of a group or family trip.
