Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas announced plans to open its first resort in Switzerland, Six Senses Crans-Montana. The 47-room ski resort will be located in Valais, two hours from Geneva and is scheduled to open in 2020.
Resort accommodations include both guestrooms and suites, with 17 residential units already available for purchase. The units include three-bedroom lofts and four-bedroom configurations. There are special Crans-Montana provisions that allow 13 of them to be bought by foreigners as second homes. This is one of the last construction projects in Switzerland that is able to sell residences to foreigners.
Once completed, the resort will offer two restaurants as well as a sun terrace, bar, and retail space. The resort will also include a 22,000-square-foot spa that will specialize in alpine treatments, a gym and fitness studio, pool, and suspended relaxation area. The spa will also house an area for children and teen treatments.
Good to know: The resort will offer ski-in and ski-out access.
Keeping with Six Senses’ sustainability focus, the building will use recycled, local materials in the flooring, millwork, and fabrics. Energy and water conservation will also be taken into account in the design. Black and grey water systems will be added to the infrastructure to ensure that wastewater is not unused, but salvaged within the building operations. Rainwater will also be collected for treatment and use.
Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas operates 11 resorts and 31 spas in 20 countries.
