Small Luxury Hotels of the World has added five hotels to its portfolio. The new members include a former Dominican monastery in Spain, a new boutique hotel on the Mediterranean in France, an old classic in New York City, a city hotel in Paris and an upscale property in London’s Knightsbridge neighborhood.
Located in Priorat, Spain, Terra Dominicata offers 26 spacious rooms with minimalist furnishings. Guests can venture onto the surrounding hiking trails, visit a ruined monastery in nearby Escaladei or take in views of Montsant Natural Park from the comfort of the hotel pool. The monks who once lived here produced Montsant and Priorat wines here, a tradition the hotel continues.
Just opened this month, Hotel Les Bords de Mer is a 19-room property whose rooms look out over the Mediterranean Sea. The first Small Luxury Hotel located in Marseille, it offers cultural tours of the old town, as well as boat trips to Calanques National Park and wine tours of the Luberon.
The Frederick Hotel in New York City has welcomed guests since 1845. The hotel’s all-day Italian restaurant Serafina serves handmade pasta as well as a signature truffle-topped pizza. Guests can also head to Primo’s bar in the lobby for classic cocktails and treats from the Italian Riviera.
Opening January 4, 2019, Hotel Grand Powers is situated in the heart of Paris’ Golden Triangle, close to the Champs-Elysees. Guests here can relax at the Thala Spa, which offers a large jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, 24-hour gym with Technogym equipment and a treatment room.
The Franklin, a 35-room London property, mixes La Belle Époque style with a modern touch. Guests here can visit The Franklin Restaurant, where a menu from Michelin-starred Alfredo Russo offers high-end Italian cuisine.
